Ruth Singer

Having started her professional life in museums, Ruth is often drawn to the discarded, damaged and fragile; things with stories. She works mainly with old cloth and favours traditional hand techniques of appliqué, quilting and embroidery.
Her narrative art textiles reflect the intriguing stories embedded within objects, places and buildings, and occasionally her own emotional history.

Ruth is collaborating with Sharyn Dunn for the On Repeat exhibition
